Day 6 – January 12, 2025
Day 6
Day 6 – January 12, 2025
This morning we met about 8 am for breakfast, which consisted of scrambled eggs and abundance of watermelon and fresh mango. Then we attended church through going online and watching the service of the church I attend with my daughter Kim and her family in Lakewood Ranch, FL. The service was really uplifting and challenging to us. The pastor talked about our primary function as a church and as a Christ follower. That mission we all are on is to reach others for Christ. We must view the world through God’s lenses instead of our own. We must look upon those around us with the intent to seek and save the lost. Instead of getting involved in the world’s concerns and looking at the world through the world’s lens, we must change our perspective viewing the world around us through the eyes of Jesus. Jesus came to seek and save the lost and if we are followers of Him, we should also seek and save the lost.

The ministry here in Ecuador is to reach out to those in the community and area to provide health care to bring healing physically. In addition to that, Jane’s ministry focuses simultaneously on the spiritual needs of the people we see. Jesus is the focus of this mission ministry and we desire to be His instruments to bring His healing to those we serve. That healing is both physical and spiritual. The care we can help deliver is to restore health physically and help those we meet to come into relationship with Jesus. That relationship is vital for our lives now and also for our eternal life. If we refuse to have faith in Christ, we will spend eternity completely separated from God. If God is light, then being separated from Him means we would be in total darkness. Think about the prospect of spending eternity in complete darkness and not be able to change that. If we believe in God and trust Him for our salvation from the presence of sin, of darkness, we will spend eternity in light, the light of God. We will spend eternity in the very presence of Him. What is your choice? Think about what your decision will bring to you.
Damarys and Loida arrived later in the afternoon to work with us for the next week. They are bringing more food for the week. It was good to see them again as I have worked with them every time I have been here. The rest of the day was spent just talking and having dinner together. By then the day was gone and it was time to go to bed for some good sleep.
